Horizon Zero Dawn Restore Power To The Door

Okay, let's be honest. We've all been there. Staring at a metal door in Horizon Zero Dawn.
It needs power. Aloy needs to "restore power". Sounds simple, right?
But, here's my unpopular opinion: It's always the same.
Must Read
The Eternal Power Puzzle
Find the power cell. Put it in the slot. Voila!
Or maybe there's a few more steps. Override a node. Climb a suspiciously placed yellow ledge.
Still, it's like the game is saying, "Here's a door! Guess what you have to do?"
Climbing Is Key
Seriously, if you see yellow paint, just start climbing. 99% of the time, that's it.
It's not exactly challenging gameplay. But at least Aloy has a good workout, right?
Maybe I'm alone in this, but I almost started seeing yellow handholds in my dreams.

Power Cells: The Game's MacGuffin
These power cells are everywhere. And nowhere.
Hidden in ruins. Guarded by Watchers. Just… waiting to be plugged in.
It's like the pre-apocalypse people just knew Aloy would need them someday. Thank you, future ancestors!
My Unpopular Opinion: Too Many Power Cells!
Did we really need that many doors needing power?
Couldn't some of the bunkers have, you know, a backup generator?
Or maybe just a regular key? Just a thought.
Override Time!
Oh, joy! Another node to override!

Aloy sticks her spear in. Something sparks. We're good to go.
Is it just me, or does Aloy make it look way too easy? Like she's overriding her phone, not ancient tech.
The "Puzzle" of Pattern Recognition
It's less of a puzzle and more of a "remember the steps" exercise.
Find the yellow ledges, find the power cell, override the node.
Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Did someone say Groundhog Day?
The Relief of a Working Door
Don't get me wrong, it's satisfying when that door finally slides open.

Especially if it's hiding some awesome loot or a juicy piece of lore.
But sometimes, I just wish there was a sign that said, "Door already powered. Please enter."
The World Saved, One Power Cell at a Time
Aloy's saving the world. One power-restoring door at a time.
Maybe that's the real heroism. The dedication to plugging in every single power cell.
Even if it means climbing yet another conveniently placed yellow ledge. We appreciate your dedication, Aloy!
So, Am I Alone?
Am I the only one who thinks the "restore power to the door" trope is a bit overused?
Maybe I'm just craving more variety. More unexpected obstacles.

Or maybe I just need a break from climbing. My thumbs are starting to hurt!
Let's Discuss!
What do you think? Am I being too harsh?
Do you enjoy the satisfaction of solving these power puzzles?
Let me know in the comments! Maybe we can start a support group for exhausted Aloy players.
But seriously, Horizon Zero Dawn is amazing. Even with all the doors.
I’m just saying, a little less "restore power" and a little more “variety” would be welcome in Horizon games. Is that too much to ask?
Okay, back to hunting machines. And finding more power cells. Wish me luck!
