Mango Cider Beer In Bangalore

Okay, Bangalore. Let's talk. We need to have a little chat about something… mango cider beer.
Specifically, the mango cider beer situation we seem to have here.
The Mango Madness
Look, I love mangoes. Alphonso? Pure gold. Badami? Divine. I'd wrestle a monkey for a good Dasheri.
Must Read
But somewhere along the way, we decided to mango-fy everything. And I think it’s gotten a bit out of hand.
I’m not saying mango lassi is bad (it’s amazing). Mango ice cream? Classic. But mango cider beer?
The Unpopular Opinion
Here it comes. Brace yourselves. This might be controversial. I… don’t really like it.
There, I said it. I feel like I need to whisper it, though. Like I'm admitting to liking pineapple on pizza (which, by the way, I don’t. Another unpopular opinion for another day).

It’s not that it’s terrible. It’s just… underwhelming. It promises so much, but delivers… well, not that much.
You expect this explosion of mango-ey goodness, this tropical vacation in a glass. What you get is…sort of mango-ish. And mostly beer-ish. With a lingering artificial sweetness.
The Bangalore Beer Scene
Bangalore’s beer scene is fantastic! Seriously. We have some amazing breweries doing incredible things.
From hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts, there's something for everyone. We're practically the microbrewery capital of India!
Why, oh why, are we diluting the potential of these fantastic beers with…mango?

The Mango Mask
It feels like the mango is masking something. What are you hiding, beer? Are you secretly just a really bland lager trying to pass itself off as something exciting?
The mango is like the overly enthusiastic friend who tries to make everything fun, but just ends up being a little…much.
We get it, you're trying to be interesting! You're trying to be refreshing! But sometimes, the beer needs to speak for itself.
The Quest for a Good Beer
I’m not a beer purist. I'm open to experimentation. I’ve even tried (and occasionally enjoyed) the chili beer. (Don't judge!).
But the mango cider beer? It just doesn't quite hit the mark for me.

Maybe I haven't found the right mango cider beer. Perhaps there's some hidden gem out there waiting to change my mind. The quest continues!
Alternatives, Anyone?
Instead of masking the beer with mango, why not embrace the other amazing flavors we have access to in India? Think spices! Cardamom, maybe? Or even a hint of ginger?
Imagine a cardamom-infused pale ale. Or a ginger-spiced stout. Now that’s innovation!
Come on, Bangalore breweries! Let's get creative! Let's move beyond the mango! (At least for a little while.)
The Final Verdict (For Now)
So, there you have it. My slightly-unpopular opinion on mango cider beer in Bangalore.

I'm not saying it's universally bad. I'm just saying... I'm not convinced. Yet.
Maybe you love it. Maybe you think I’m completely wrong. That’s fine! Beer is subjective!
But next time you’re at your favorite brewery, ordering that mango cider, maybe…just maybe…consider trying something else.
You might just surprise yourself. You might just find your new favorite beer. A beer that doesn’t need to hide behind a mango.
And who knows? Maybe one day, I'll actually enjoy a mango cider beer. But until then, I'll stick to my IPAs and stouts. Cheers!
