Who Played Papouli In Full House

Okay, let's settle this. We need to talk about Papouli from Full House.
Who Was That Wonderful Old Man?
Remember Papouli? He was Jesse's grandfather. He visited from Greece! He was full of life and love. And he pinched cheeks. Who doesn’t remember that?
But wait... who played him? This is where things get a little…confusing. A lot of people think it was someone else. That “someone else” has a famous twin. More on that later.
Must Read
The answer? Drumroll please! It was the amazing Andreas Katsulas. Yes, that Andreas Katsulas. You might recognize him from other roles. He was a character actor in a bunch of shows and movies. Some might remember his roles in Star Trek, or Next Generation!
The Great Twin Conspiracy!
Here's where my unpopular opinion comes in. Are you ready for it?
I low-key think it should have been Rhea Perlman’s father.

I know, I know! Hear me out!
Rhea Perlman. You know, Carla from Cheers? Her dad, Philip Perlman, was a character actor too.
And get this... he's the TWIN brother of Jack Klugman. Yes, that Jack Klugman! Oscar Madison himself! From The Odd Couple!
I can hear you now: “But that doesn’t make any sense!”

Maybe not. But imagine Jack Klugman as Papouli. He had that lovable grump thing down pat. He already looked like someone who’d pinched a lot of cheeks in his life. He would have brought the funny. And the warm fuzzies. The role might have even been good for Klugman since he had recently gone through treatment for throat cancer. Getting back on camera would be great for him.
Why Jack Klugman Would Have Nailed It
Picture this: Danny Tanner trying to teach Papouli the proper way to clean. Uncle Jesse arguing about Elvis. DJ complaining about her outfits. And Jack Klugman, as Papouli, just shaking his head and offering everyone baklava.
Pure gold, I tell you. Pure gold!
Plus, the meta-ness of it all! Jack Klugman was already a TV legend. Having him on Full House would have been an event.

Of course, Andreas Katsulas did an amazing job. He truly made the role memorable. The man was a pro.
It’s All Hypothetical (But Still…)
Look, I get it. It didn't happen. I’m just saying... it could have been even more awesome! It's all just a fun "what if?" scenario.
Think of it this way: Sometimes the best casting choices are the ones you never thought of. The ones that seem a little...out there. But secretly, you know it would work.
So, next time you watch that Papouli episode, remember Andreas Katsulas. Appreciate his performance. He did great.

But also, just for a second, imagine Jack Klugman in that role. And tell me I'm wrong.
I dare you.
Maybe it's just me. Maybe I’m just a crazy fan with a wild imagination. But deep down, a small part of me will always believe that Jack Klugman was the Papouli we never knew we needed.
And Philip Perlman should have gotten a call to play the twin of Papouli.
