The Promised Neverland Rushed

The Promised Neverland Rushed

Okay, let's be real. Remember The Promised Neverland? That show had a killer start, didn't it? I was hooked! Little kids outsmarting demons? Sign me up!

But then… well, things got a little wonky. It's like the plot hit warp speed. Zoom! Gone! Did anyone else feel that way? Maybe it's just me. Probably not.

Season One: Brilliance Personified

The first season was a masterpiece. Seriously. The tension, the mystery, the adorable but terrifying Emma. Pure genius.

Every episode left you on the edge of your seat. You cared about these kids! You wanted them to escape! The stakes felt incredibly high.

That final escape plan? Iconic. We were all cheering them on, right? I know I was. Maybe a little too invested.

Season Two: Hold on Tight!

And then… Season Two. Buckle up, folks. Because we’re about to dive headfirst into… something. Let's call it an "experience."

It felt like they crammed five manga arcs into, like, five episodes. My brain couldn't keep up. Plot points whizzing by faster than Ray's calculations.

Characters showing up, doing things, and then disappearing? Happens all the time. Don't get attached to anyone. They might vanish by the next scene.

The Missing Pieces

Remember all those cool, intricate plot threads from season one? Yeah, a lot of those got, shall we say, addressed in a very… efficient manner. Some might say rushed.

Like, that whole demon world and its social structure? Glossed over. The mysterious "promised" aspect of The Promised Neverland? Vaguely hinted at. A quick summary instead of a deep dive!

Important characters? Reduced to cameos. The emotional weight of their struggles? Gone with the wind.

Manga Readers, Please Forgive Me

I know, I know. The manga exists. I've heard whispers. Apparently, there's a whole lot more content. A rich tapestry of storytelling!

But for those of us who only experienced the anime… it felt like we got the express ticket to the ending. No scenic route for us.

It's like ordering a five-course meal and only getting the appetizer and dessert. Sure, they're tasty, but where's the main course?

Unpopular Opinion Time?

So, here it is. My maybe-not-so-controversial opinion: The Promised Neverland season two felt rushed. Massively rushed. Like, Olympic sprinter level rushed.

I wanted more world-building. More character development. More of that delicious tension from season one. I wanted all the juicy details!

Instead, we got a highlight reel. A speedrun. A cliff notes version of what could have been an epic adventure. I just wanted more of Norman being a genius.

Am I Alone?

Maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe I'm expecting too much. Maybe I just need to re-watch season one and pretend the rest never happened.

But I can't shake the feeling that The Promised Neverland had the potential to be a true anime masterpiece. It had all the ingredients!

Instead, it feels like someone panicked and hit the fast-forward button. Oh well, at least we have season one. And fanfiction, right?

So, what do you think? Was I wrong? Was season two actually good? Or did they rush The Promised Neverland ending?

Let me know in the comments! I'm ready for the internet to tell me how wrong I am. Just kidding (mostly).

Just please don't send Isabella after me. I'm too young to die!
