Song Lyric Prank On Boyfriend

Song Lyric Prank On Boyfriend

My Boyfriend Fell for This (And I'm Not Sorry)

Okay, hear me out. We've all been there, scrolling through TikTok, right? Suddenly, a wild idea pops into your head. I saw a song lyric prank challenge.

And I thought, "Why not?" Don't judge me. My boyfriend, let's call him Mark, is usually up for anything.

I chose a song. Something totally cheesy. Something he'd never expect. I mean, who suspects Rick Astley these days?

Phase 1: Innocence is Key

I started with a simple text. "Hey babe!" followed by a line from "Never Gonna Give You Up." "We're no strangers to love."

He replied, "Huh? Okay..." Good start. Play it cool.

My next text: "You know the rules and so do I." I waited. Tick-tock.

"Lol, what are you on about?" he texted back. He was getting suspicious. But not Rick Rolled suspicious, thankfully.

This was too easy. I almost felt bad. Almost.

Phase 2: Turning Up the Heat

The next lyric: "A full commitment's what I'm thinking of." I held my breath. This was the make-or-break line.

He responded with a confused emoji. Progress! He was definitely not catching on to the lyrics. I started giggling to myself.

"You wouldn't get this from any other guy," I texted. I may have added a winky face. Just for fun.

He texted, "Am I supposed to know what you are saying?" He still didn't catch on!

Phase 3: The Grand Finale

Here comes the chorus. I took a deep breath. This was it.

"I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling..." Text. Send. Wait.

He replied, "Are you okay? Should I come over?" Victory! He was officially concerned.

I continued, "Gotta make you understand..." I was practically crying with laughter at this point.

He wrote, "UNDERSTAND WHAT? You're scaring me a little bit..." He had no idea. The poor thing.

The final blow: "Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down..."

His response? A string of question marks followed by, "WHAT IS HAPPENING?!".

I couldn't hold it in any longer. I sent him a screenshot of the Rick Astley lyrics.

The Aftermath (Worth It?)

Silence. Then, a single, "Seriously?". Followed by a laughing emoji. He was a good sport.

He admitted he had absolutely no clue. He also said he needs to check on me more. Ha!

He eventually said it was pretty funny. But threatened to get me back. I'm ready!

So, was it wrong to prank my boyfriend with song lyrics? Maybe.

But was it hilarious? Absolutely. And let's be honest, everyone loves a good Rick Roll.

I'd do it again. (Don't tell Mark). Maybe next time with Taylor Swift.

My unpopular opinion? A little harmless fun is good for any relationship.

What do you think? Would you try this with your partner?

I think you should try it. Just don't blame me if you get dumped! Just kidding (mostly).
