My Hero Acadamia Season 5 Dub

Okay, let's talk My Hero Academia. Specifically, Season 5. And even more specifically, the dubbed version. Buckle up, because I have some thoughts. And maybe, just maybe, they're a little...unconventional.
The Joint Training Arc: Did We Need It?
First off, that Joint Training Arc. You know, the one where Class 1-A and Class 1-B duke it out? Honestly? It felt a little…long. I mean, yes, character development is cool. Seeing everyone's Quirks evolve is great. But did we really need six episodes of glorified sparring matches? I’m just asking the real questions here.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching Bakugo yell. It's therapeutic, in a weird way. And seeing Shoto subtly (or not so subtly) try to impress his dad is always entertaining. But the pacing felt…off. Like we were spinning our wheels a bit. And let's be honest, some of those 1-B characters? I still couldn't pick them out of a lineup.
Must Read
"Is Monoma really that annoying, or is it just me?"
The dub, though, did its best. Seriously, the voice actors are top-notch. Even when the plot was dragging a bit, they kept me engaged. Props to them.
The Villain Arc: A Change of Pace... Sort Of
Then we get to the Villain Arc! Finally, a change of scenery! We get to see what the League of Villains is up to. And…well, it’s a mixed bag, isn't it?

Look, I love Shigaraki. He's a fantastic villain. Creepy, complex, and utterly terrifying. His backstory is tragic, and you can't help but feel a little bit sorry for him, even as he's trying to destroy everything. But the execution of this arc? Something felt off. Again, maybe it's just me.
And the dub? Again, fantastic. The voice acting really sells the raw emotion and intensity of the villains. Especially Shigaraki's voice actor. Chills. Pure chills.
My Unpopular Opinion: It's Not the Worst Season
Okay, here it comes. My potentially controversial take: Season 5, dubbed, is not the worst season of My Hero Academia. I know, I know! Blasphemy! But hear me out.

It had its moments. The character interactions were still great. The animation, even if it wasn't always at its peak, was still pretty good. And the dub? Chef's kiss. The voice actors consistently deliver phenomenal performances.
Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for good voice acting. Maybe it's because I appreciate the quieter, character-driven moments. Or maybe I'm just easy to please. Whatever the reason, I didn't hate Season 5. In fact, I kinda enjoyed it. In its own flawed, sometimes-slow-paced, occasionally-confusing way.

And hey, at least we got more Aizawa. You can never have too much Aizawa.
So, yeah. That's my take. Feel free to disagree. But please, be gentle. I'm just a humble anime fan with an unpopular opinion and a love for a good dub.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch that Bakugo vs. Shoto fight. For research purposes, of course.
