Bear In The Big Blue House Morning Glory

Okay, let's talk about something important. Something that shaped our youths. It's time to bravely address a potentially controversial topic.
The Morning Glory Dilemma
We all remember Bear In The Big Blue House, right? The show was wholesome, fluffy, and full of life lessons. But there's one segment that always made me, well, question things.
I'm talking about Morning Glory. Yes, that sing-songy segment about waking up.
Must Read
My Unpopular Opinion
Here it is: Morning Glory was kind of… annoying. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the sentiment. I understand the positive message about starting your day with joy. But that song!
It felt a little too enthusiastic, even for a show aimed at preschoolers. Like, I’m barely awake, Bear. Give me a break before demanding sunshine and smiles.
Anyone else secretly cringe a little? Or is it just me?
The Repetitive Nature
The lyrics were simple, almost too simple. "Up and at 'em, raise your head..." It played every single episode.
It's stuck in my head to this day. Thanks, Bear In The Big Blue House. Thanks a lot.

You wake up. You stretch. Then you sing about it...a lot.
The Volume Level
Maybe it's my memory playing tricks. But didn’t that segment seem louder than the rest of the show? Just me?
It felt like a sonic boom of cheerfulness. All before I'd even had my cereal.
My poor, unsuspecting eardrums. Assaulted by the relentless optimism.
Let's Talk About Bear's Enthusiasm
Bear, bless his heart, was always so enthusiastic. Especially during Morning Glory.
He'd practically bounce off the walls with glee. His joy was…intense.

I admired it. I also felt a little overwhelmed by it.
The Morning Glory Alternatives
Couldn't they have mixed it up a little? Maybe had a different song sometimes?
Or a quieter, more mellow version for those of us who aren't morning people? Just a thought.
Imagine a slow, jazzy Morning Glory. Now that I could get behind.
The Impact On My Adult Life
To this day, when I wake up, I have a brief flash of panic. A fear of that song starting.

The trauma is real, people. The Morning Glory trauma is real.
I now understand why some animals hibernate. Avoid the Morning Glory at all costs.
Was It Just Me?
Am I alone in this? Is anyone else out there silently harboring a grudge against Morning Glory?
Or am I destined to be the only one who finds it mildly grating?
Speak now, or forever hold your peace…and secretly hum the tune under your breath.
The Defense Rests
Look, I’m not saying Bear In The Big Blue House was a bad show. It was lovely and taught some good lessons.

But Morning Glory? It definitely had the potential to be annoying.
So, let's just agree to disagree, maybe? Unless you are also secretly on my side. Then, welcome to the club.
If you are, then you are no longer alone, and we can all agree that Bear should be just a little more chill in the morning.
We can then all celebrate with a quiet cup of coffee. Perhaps listening to some music that isn't quite as enthusiastically charged.
Thank you for attending my TED talk about Morning Glory.
